Flagstaff Quarry was one of the Penmon limestone quarries owned by the Bulkeley family. Penmon limestone was used in the construction of a number of local landmark structures, such as Beaumaris Castle, Caernarfon Castle, Menai Suspension Bridge and the Britannia Bridge, as well as some a little further away, such as Birmingham Town Hall.
