Around the time of the Great Strike at Penrhyn Quarry (1900-1903), Moel Faban quarry was in operation together with nearby Tan-y-bwlch quarry in a workers’ cooperative. The quarry is on the lower slopes of Moel Faban, above the village of Rachub. Part of the workings were underground. Operations ceased before 1914. The adit is around 200 paces long and has a small alcove cut out on the right towards the end.
