I liked the idea of old timber supporting new life, albeit perhaps short lived.

And yes, north west Wales does have an abundance of abandoned workings, mostly for slate – a lot of them in fairly remote locations.

Interesting that this place had its own small foundry, I only tend to associate those with large industrial complexes. Certainly Dinorwic had one, but I kind of assumed it was a bit of an exception.
