Memorial to Dic Evans (1905-2001), RNLI

Memorial to Dic Evans (1905-2001), RNLI. Sam Holland’s sculpture in honour of this hero of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution was unveiled at Moelfre lifeboat station in 2004. Dic Evans served as coxswain of the Moelfre lifeboat and was twice awarded with the RNLI’s gold medal for bravery.

  1. I’m not sure what I think of this. I’ve seen it many times and have tried to like it, but it reminds me of a marionette or a tailor’s dummy. I think it’s because it’s not sculpted from something, rather it looks like the clothes are plaster of paris impregnated and have been stuck on before casting. Great photos, however!
