Great shots. I like photo 2 with the fleeing gulls! I take it these were not taken with your no.1 camera…looks very soggy in the shots! Here in Ffestiniog, the water almost reached the top of the bridge, but thankfully the levels fell again…phew!

Thanks, Iain. These shots were actually taken with camera #1, but it wasn’t raining at the time and I used a long telephoto so I could stay a respectable distance away. Even so, there a fair bit of salt spray in the air and when downwind the lens filter did get a coating of the stuff – hence the the soft focus look of some of these (#7 in particular). I was there a bit after high tide, but the waves were still hitting the sea wall at two particular spots. The level of the Afon Llanfairfechan was rather high at its outlet near the boating pool. From photos I’ve seen it looks like the place was more badly affected in the surge last month.
