Information

The Church of St Cross (Eglwys St Cross) received a Grade II listing in 2000 and is located on the eastern edge of the village of Tal-y-bont. The Anglican, neo-Norman style church was built in 1892 by the Penrhyn Estate with Thomas Dinham Atkinson (1864-1948) as architect.

  1. Beautifully exposed and composed shots, but the top photo is really fabulous with the blurred flowers and the tree outline. The church looks almost “Arts and Crafts”…I suppose, given the date of build, that was inevitable.

  2. Agreed, the first one really got my attention. There is something sad about a tilting gravestone in a graveyard and there is just enough depth of field in the photograph to isolate it without completely losing the background.

  3. My mother Avis Bell ( Hughes ) was married in this Church in 1958 to my father Thomas Bell . My mum is from Tal -y-Bont and her brother Emyr lives and works on the Penryn Estate, she wants me to take her to a service here one day which I will do . David Bell
