Nando’s is an international ‘fast casual dining’ restaurant chain with a Mozambican/Portuguese theme specialising in flame-grilled peri-peri chicken dishes. The company was named after one of its two co-founders, Portuguese-born Fernando Duarte and its signature marinade has its roots in the incorporation by early settlers of African Bird’s Eye Chilli (peri-peri) into Afro-Portuguese cuisine. Founded in 1987 in Johannesburg, South Africa, the enterprise now has a presence in over 30 different countries. Its first outlet in the UK, in which it currently operates more than 300 branches, opened in 1992. Nando’s has in the past courted some controversy in various advertising campaigns and has fostered a certain mystique surrounding its rumoured ultra-exclusive Nando’s High Five Card, the existence of which the company officially neither confirms nor denies. Reportedly awarded to a handful of select celebrities, the card grants a lifetime entitlement to free meals to the holder and four friends. Further Reading Nando’s;

Loving your bokeh in the first shot and the colourful, upbeat feel to the photos. I fancy a bit of “fast casual dining” myself although it sounds like Nando’s might be a bit too carnivorous for my taste!

Well, I can recommend the halloumi and portobello mushroom wrap and also the carrot cake 😉

Tried the one in Bolton once and have never returned. Your photographs are more interesting than the dining experience was!

I really liked the nando in Manchester when I was studying there. They’ve just opened one in Gateshead that I had my eye on, but your post has put me off! High 5 indeed! Great shots, love the bokeh.

I echo earlier comment – I prefer the photos to the food!
