On 19 August, less than a month after opening, Surf Snowdonia announced that the lagoon would have to be closed for several days in order for it to be drained to repair a mechanical fault with the wave generator. The repairs took 10 days to complete and the attraction re-opened on 29 August.

this time the wave machine was working, I can see 🙂 awesome shots!!

Yes, it was much more interesting to watch on my second trip there with the wave machine in operation. Apparently they had to close it again for a couple of days recently to partially drain the lagoon so that they could repair a tear in the lining of the pond. And yes, the place is popular with photographers as well as surfers 😉
