  1. Brilliant captures of water, Graham. I have often wondered why we are drawn to water in all forms – a still lake, a torrential rainfall, a rushing river, a gentle stream, and the immensity of oceans. We find peace in the rush of flowing water. One of my favourite quotes about water is by Wendell Berry:

“ It may be that when we no longer know what to do,
we have come to our real work
and when we no longer know which way to go,
we have begun our real journey.
The mind that is not baffled is not employed.
The impeded stream is the one that sings.”

    • Many thanks for the insightful thoughts, Rebecca. I’ve been reading the Tao Te Ching lately, which has a lot of water imagery and metaphor, due, amongst other things, I think, to its yielding yet powerful nature.
