  1. Oh, I would have fun here! And you did. The moon gate is wonderful, as is the symbol (Welsh?) in the next image. I’m curious about the rill or channel in the 3rd photo. The bit of bamboo and the ginkgo are my other favorites. Thanks!

    • The moon gate leads into the “Two Dragons Garden” created in conjunction with the Bangor Confucius Institute – it is a lovely peaceful spot to just sit and be.

The symbol (three furled ferns, I guess) is carved into the wooden post, but I inverted the image to give the illusion of it standing out in relief. (Try as I might, I cannot now see it as being concave!)

The channel in #3 is, I guess, a little canalised section of the stream which pops out from a little brick tunnel out of shot and then tumbles down in a small waterfall.

The ginko was a happy discovery there for me recently – I had been reading about them a while ago but hadn’t actually seen one before.

And, yeah, you gotta love bamboo!

Just in case you were wondering, the statue is of Sri Chinmoy.
