  1. My father, who spent some years living in the area, taught us all to pronounce Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch from a very early age. I used to write it on the board for every Grade 8 class I taught and get them to look up its meaning in the dictionary – then try to pronounce it. All great fun.
