Located on south-facing slopes in the Nantlle Valley, Pant Du is the Gwynedd’s first commercial vineyard. The family-run business owned by Richard and Iola Huws started wine production in 2010 and produces wine, cider, apple juice and, since 2013, bottled water from a spring below Pant Du’s land extracted from an 80-metre-deep borehole. The vineyard, which covers 7.5 acres, was planted in 2007 and now grows eight different varieties of grape. At the same time a 16-acre apple orchard was also established.
